SUMMER ADVENTURE 2016 -Day 11

This day at Trail West was jam packed!  Just blogging about it, makes me tired all over again!
We started out taking a Jeep Wrangler off- roading through mountain roads. We road it to the small town of St. Elmo and were greeted with a whole family of chipmunks excited to see us!

The camp distributes special chipmunk feed and the chipmunks eat it right out of your hand!

Or your lap!!

So sweet with their little cheeks filling up as fast as we would give it to them.

Stephen loved driving the jeep over all the dirt roads!

We got back to camp, ate lunch and it was on to white water rafting!

We were pumped to get on the river!!

These pictures are the best!  They make me laugh every time I look at them.
We did class 2 and 3 rapids but they were definitely mighty intense for us, so thrilling!

I love all of our expressions and look at Amelia, posing perfectly!

And then we disappear under a rapid!

This is right when we pop back up from that rapid.  Look at Addison and Stephen!
The water is freezing so it is always a shock when the rapids hit you.

I love this one too as we are about to get slammed!
Look at sweet Mr. Bill and Ms. Thelma with Amelia.  They had never been rafting and brought their granddaughter to camp.  They were so nervous about the rafting so they came on our raft because our family has experience.
They told us Amelia saved them so many times and she was so strong with her paddling and knowing just what to do.
And they said Addison was so confidant that they figured they could do it too!  It was so fun having them with us!

Stephen caught this great action shot on his go-pro.
After we rafted the camp picked us up and brought us hot chocolate and cookies.
After rafting we headed back to camp because it was Christmas Night at Trail West!
(This was the third complete outfit change for the entire family if anyone is counting).
We took lots of great pictures and they had an amazing Christmas dinner with all the fixings.
We put these funny props on for the picture but as I am looking at Stephen, he looks so handsome!  He added the sweater as a joke but he looks great!

And look who surprised us with a visit!
It was a fun night!  All the families were in Christmas jammies, ugly Christmas sweaters or Christmas outfits.  And the summer crew made the dining hall completely a Christmas wonderland in just one afternoon!  Christmas trees and decorations were everywhere.

Enjoying our Christmas feast!
The food at Trail West is phenomenal.  We sit at our same table every meal and the same wonderful college student serves us every meal.  Huge breakfasts and wonderful lunches and dinners.  It was perfect for Stephen who finally got to eat and enjoy everything and even gained weight on this trip!  Hooray!
