Gizmo Cupid

Sometimes as a parent, you just have weak moments.
As a result of those moments, we now have two dogs and a guinea pig.  Oh boy.
The kids have been asking for a guinea pig for awhile now and we broke down and surprised them with picking one out for Valentine's Day.

Meet Gizmo Cupid.

He is very cuddly and makes adorable little purring noses and eats NONSTOP.   The kids absolutely love him.  The dogs? Well, we are still trying to convince them he is not supper.

On actual Valentine's Day, the kids and I went out to brunch after church.  It was a fun time with three of my loves.  My big love was working, boo.
Happy Valentine's Day!

FLORIDA TRIPS!

Amelia had a super fun girls trip to Ft. Walton Beach, Florida to celebrate her best friend, McKenzie's, 13th Birthday.

Goofy Golf is always on the list of activities!

This year they decided they had so much fun on the Polar Plunge during their youth group trip that they added it to the birthday trip as well.  Crazy girls.

Happy Birthday Mckenzie!
The next weekend my kids were off of school to celebrate Mardi Gras so I took the kids and drove down to The Villages, Florida to visit Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Jon.
We were listening to a fun DJ but we did not last too long because it was FREEZING!

The kids all enjoyed learning to drive the golf cart.

It was a quick visit but the kids always enjoy seeing their Grandparents.

Addison's 7th Birthday Party!

Addison was super excited for her 7th Birthday Party at the movie theater!

Maybe the sun was just a teeny tiny bit bright??

Addison had chosen to have her birthday party at the movie theater to see Kung Fu Panda 3!

All of her adorable friends started to arrive and were so silly.

Time for Happy Birthday and cake!

Addison ordered her cake at the bakery and told them she wanted light pink and dark pink rosettes with swirls.  I would say they nailed it.  When she and I went to pick it up from the bakery she squealed and hugged the decorator.

Pretty cake for our pretty Addison.

More buddy pictures.

Opening presents is sweet with little girls because they all LOVE everything and hug each other after every present.

After cake, presents and time in the arcade, it was time to watch the movie!  We had two whole rows roped off for us which the girls thought was pretty cool and of course they each had their own movie snack box.  Fun day for our Addi Kate!

Basketball

Luke Michael has joined his first basketball team.  It is the local rec league for 9 and 10 year olds.   He showed up (never having played on a team) to the draft day in Bulls shorts, Bulls jersey and knee high athletic socks.  He had confidence way beyond his skill level which I loved!

Luke is doing great, he is improving every single game and his skill level is catching up to his swagger.  And now he has new Air Jordans to complete the look.  He ended up being drafted to The Bulls which is great because our neighbor is the coach and two of his friends are on the team.

Laughing it up with our neighbor Reese.

 Grab that rebound Luke!

Checking out our reaction (he looks up to the bleachers a lot after he does something right).  So sweet.

Hands up Luke!
Recently my dad sent me DVD's of my years playing basketball and Luke LOVES to watch me play.  It was great timing because now when I play with him in our driveway, he listens to me when I coach him.  He knows his momma has got skillz.  Ha!
Anyway, we have had lots of fun going to Luke's games and he will proudly tell you so far this season he has scored two baskets and one free throw and boy was he excited!

Addison Kate's 7th Birthday!

Happy 7th Birthday Addison Kate!!
Addison started out her birthday by going to school so she could bring donuts and juice to her classmates. I checked her out of school in late morning so she and I could have a fun day together.
Our first stop was to her old stomping grounds, The Children's House.  Addison got to surprise the students at her preschool and kindergarten and it was precious.  When she walked in the school, they all yelled, "ADDISON!" and hugged her.  She was thrilled.

Addison then read three stories to all of the students.  She did such a great job reading to them.  I was so proud of her.

She then stayed and played on the playground with some of her old buddies.  What a great way to spend your birthday!  She had fun and giggles and hugs with old friends and all of her teachers.

Then on to a lunch date with mommy!

Addison got to choose the restaurant for her birthday dinner and much to my dismay she chose El Saltillo!

This is why she chose it.  She wanted to wear the birthday sombrero and have the birthday song sung to her.  Ha!

Addison being Addison.  Love her sass. (When it's not directed at me).

Finally it was time for presents!

There is nothing Addison loves more than hugs from her big brother and sister.

Addison wanted "an Underarmor like Amelia and Luke."

Books from Amelia and Luke...

Always a hit with Addison.

Her own sewing kit!
Notice Luke keeping himself busy behind her.  Ha!

"My own tent!!!"

Our beautiful Addison Kate!

We love you so much Addison Kate!
You keep us laughing and smiling and we are so proud of the sweet girl that you are!
