First Day of School

August 10th was the first day of school for the Boskovich kids and all three of them were starting at a new school this year.  We had the whole spectrum of emotions from singing and dancing with excitement, to nervous chatter to sniffles and tears.  But they all came home the first day smiling and filled with stories about their new experiences.

Addison Kate
1st Grade-Mrs. Fletcher
Oak Park Elementary

Amelia Grace
7th Grade
Ocean Springs Middle School

Luke Michael
4th Grade
Ocean Springs Upper Elementary
Luke and Addison ride the morning bus together and I love it!  They look so cute walking down the driveway together (although I can't hear them from my perch on the couch with my coffee, so they could be fighting but whatevs, they at least look like they love each other).
It makes me happy that Luke can look after his little sister on the bus although as Addison tells it, Luke tricks her into giving him her snack everyday.

So this is the first time I have had all my babies at full time school.  And I thought I would be more distraught about it but I kinda had to control myself from dancing up and down the driveway when the bus pulled away.  Ha!  Kidding. Kind of.

Being 12 is pretty awesome!

Amelia's 12 Birthday Party!!
We got a couple of hotel rooms and her closest friends and let them have a dinner out, swimming in the multiple pools and a sleepover.

These girls had a GREAT time!
The giggles never stopped.

Dinner at Bubba Gump.

The girls swam all evening until the pools closed!

After all that swimming it was time for some gourmet cupcakes.

Board games, present opening, more giggling and then eventually they went to bed...I think.
Only after all of her friends checked out at 11am did little brother and sister get to join in on the fun.

This is the life...

Junior Team Tennis State Tournament

Near the end of our summer vacation, both Amelia and Luke's Junior Team Tennis teams, made it to the State Tournament in Jackson.
Luke, Parker and Michael were ready to play...but first they cheered on their big siblings in the 12 and Under match.

Little bit was a trooper the whole weekend cheering on big sister and big brother.  It was A LOT of tennis and it was HOT!  She was given many popsicles to keep the whining at bay.
I was the coach of the 12 and Under team and they were a super great group of kids.  We won all of our local qualifying matches and were ready for some state competition!

Amelia has a fierce backhand.
Amelia played fabulously at this tournament, she must have played off of sheer adrenaline (and some Mountain Dew) because we picked her up straight from youth group camp where she averaged only a few hours of sleep a night.   But she was a fighter on the court.

Amelia played a girls singles match, two mixed doubles matches and a girls doubles match.
She did awesome!  She won three out of the four matches that she played and we could not have been prouder.
I was much more stressed out watching my children compete and coaching my little team than I have ever been while playing at the state level myself, man, I was a wreck.
One of the best parts about state...hanging out with all of your friends at the hotel, restaurants and the pool!

Take a look at that temperature!  Mississippi is no joke in July.

So proud of my whole 12 and Under team.  Most of them were beginners to tournament play and they really held their own.  We tied for second in our flight and ended up winning our consolation match so the kids were happy and I was happy with how much experience they each got on the court.

Luke played and won three matches of boys doubles and he was on fire that weekend!

Luke and Eli played awesome doubles together, it must have been those awesome green shirts.

Luke's team ended up competing in the finals!
We were so proud of them and although that Jackson team (full of ringers, hee hee) beat us, we will be back next year!
Way to go TOCC!  2nd place in State!

Luke with his tennis trophy towel.
It was a fun experience and the whole family had a great time!  Stephen and I were super impressed with Amelia and Luke's tennis and happy they seemed to really enjoy it!

The Great Escape

Amelia's church youth group went to camp for a week.  It is a Christian camp program geared to middle school students.
Amelia has had quite the amazing summer, lucky girl.

25 middle schoolers, no thank you!   Yikes!  God bless those youth leaders.

That is Amelia under all that shaving cream.

Lake time.
Making great memories this summer, our little girl is growing up.

Happy 12th Birthday Amelia!

Our Amelia Grace is 12 years old!
It's hard to believe "Mimi" is 12 and about to enter middle school, the years have gone by so quickly.

Mississippi necklace.

The kids always get to pick a birthday dinner or whatever restaurant they want and Amelia always picks the same dinner.  Steak on the grill, baked potato and asparagus or corn on the cob.
Happy 12th Birthday sweet Amelia!  We love you so much and are so proud of the young lady you have become.
