Other things we did this spring besides tennis :)

Pondered our amazing life :)
(Notice all the cool shells we collected on Horn Island)

Enjoyed Horn Island

Amelia traveled to Waco, TX at Baylor University for the Youth Cue choir festival.
She and her choir friends sang beautifully and the wrap of the weekend was an unbelievable concert of 200 hundred plus teenagers praising God.

Grandma Joan came to visit :)

The kids ate milk shakes that were insane.

Stephen and I took the kids and a whole mess of their friends to a Shuckers game :)

Tennis Season!!!

Amelia and Luke both played on the Ocean Springs High School Tennis team this year.  So if you want to know what we were doing throughout March and April...here it is!  Lots of tennis, more tennis than we could have ever imagined.
We are so proud of both of them and their whole team.  Last year our team graduated 12 seniors!  Varsity tennis is the top six girls and top six boys so it was a big loss for us but these kids all stepped up and as you will see through this post-had big success!

These cutie 7th graders made the High School Tennis team!
Woo Hoo!!

I love all these team pictures, look at little Luke.
Always getting squeezed or leaned on, lol.

Luke had a fabulous first tennis season!
He played in our number one JV spot, which for our team meant that he usually played against the other team's number one player because our JV team would most often play other school's Varsity team.   Luke played against mostly Juniors and Seniors and usually won!
He also got bumped up to Varsity quite a few times when the team needed him!

Addison got to hang out on the courts A LOT this spring!
Best cheerleader and stand in little sister to the whole team.

Gotta love these two!

Amelia and Hayden with more wins!

A team that prays together...
Just another thing I love about our school, our kids and coaches pray like this before EVERY SINGLE MATCH.

Go Hounds!!

This was a tournament our JV boys attended and another example of our JV team, playing other school's Varsity teams.
Luke and his partner in doubles (also a 7th grader) played this giant and his partner and lost.
Luke knew he would then have to play the giant immediately in singles.  This boy was a senior!
Luke marched off the court and said to me, "I AM BEATING THIS GUY!"
And sure enough, the picture above is him after he beat that guy in singles!  Luke didn't even drop one game!  So the team called him the Giant Slayer, ha!

Luke and Michael!

Love watching these sweet girls play doubles together.

Luke in his first Varsity tournament, playing with our lone Senior, Drake!
Big difference in an 18 year old and a 13 year old!

Amelia and Logan kicking some booty in Mixed Doubles.

This was our District Tournament to see who advances to the Individual State Tournament.
Amelia and Logan got 2nd and advanced to Individual State tournament in Oxford!
Way to go!

Winners of the District Tournament!

Winner of South State Finals!

To wrap up the season, the team headed to Jackson to compete in the Team 6A State finals!
The whole team sprayed their hair, Greyhound Blue!

Second place at 6A State Finals!
Pretty impressive with how young our team is!
Way to go Greyhounds!

Proud mama.

Love these two.

Next up was traveling to Oxford for the kids that qualified for Individual State!
Amelia played the best tennis of her life in her mixed doubles with Logan.
I LOVED watching her!
Way to go Mimi!

Speaking of Mimi...this is our other Mimi!
Our wonderful friend's the St. Amant's grandma and she is at every match and cheered on Amelia and Luke at every match!  And gave hugs when that was needed too.

Way to go Amelia!
So proud of this girl!

Some well deserved ice cream :)
