Gala and Father's Day!

I went to the Junior Auxiliary Gala this year but my date had to work :(
So, I sent him a picture to tell him I missed him...
Jenny, Mary Claudia and I at the Gala.  It was a fun night and I even won a couple of things at the auction.

Ashley and I all dolled up.

Happy Father's Day!
These three definitely have one of the best!
After church, we went to brunch and opened presents.  Then Stephen had to head to work.  The kids and I decided to drive to Pascagoula to suprise him with an ice cream cake.  So we ran into the grocery store and asked the bakery girl to write "Happy Father's Day" on the cake.  As we pulled up to the hospital, I looked at the cake.  It said, "Happy Father's Dad!"
Super fail but it's the thought that counts and his smile seeing us arrive in the ER was worth it.

We love you!!

Summer!!

Amelia recently went to stay the week in Florida with her friends.
Shopping, swimming, boating, mini golf...this girl has it made.

Swinging from the rope swing.

Loving summer!

TAYLOR SWIFT!!!!

We had gotten the girls Taylor Swift tickets for Christmas and the weekend had finally arrived.  The concert was at the LSU stadium in Baton Rouge, LA. so we made a girls trip out of it.  It was Addison's first time going to a concert and she was PUMPED!!

 Love these girls!

The stadium was huge!  50,000 screaming Taylor Swift fans-the vast majority were moms and girls 12 and under with a few random dads thrown in there too.
 Almost time for Taylor!!

And then Taylor appeared!
Oh my goodness, it was amazing but I will not tell you the coolest part in case you are going to the concert in a different city.
The girls had such an amazing time-singing EVERY word to EVERY song and dancing their little booties off.  Addison danced this intensely the whole night until the third to last song and she said, "Mommy, I am tired."  So I sat down, she put her head in my lap and she was out like a light.  She did not wake up for the big finale of "Shake it Off" or even the fireworks!  Poor baby.
But she woke up happy and walked out of the stadium no problem at all, talking her little head off about how awesome the concert was and how she could not believe she stayed up until midnight.
Amelia and I loved it too and thought it was just as great as her Red Tour.  Great memories with my sweet girls.

Wrapping up the school year...

The last couple weeks of school are filled with field trips, picnics, field days, etc.  Just counting down the days until summer vacation!
Luke's class went on a field trip to the New Orleans Zoo and the kids loved it!

How could I pass up a chance to spend 10 hours with a bunch of 3rd graders?
Love this 3rd grader the very most!!!

Luke and Brooks were trying to soak each other with the jumping fountains.

We were all mesmerized watching the orangutangs.   I could have spent the whole day at this exhibit because the orangutangs were so active and funny and daring.  But, the kids wanted to see the WHOLE zoo.

Mrs. Howell with Luke and some of his buddies.

The girls lost a tooth on the same day!!
That poor tooth fairy is going to be broke!

Family tradition...blueberry picking!

We had A LOT, more than we realized, until we got them home and laid them out on the counter.
  Holy cow...A LOT!!!
We froze about 20 cups, ate our weight in blueberries and still had enough to make blueberry pie, blueberry lemon bread, blueberry cobbler and blueberry pancakes.

Last day of school on the bikes!!!
The kids had a 60% day the last day of school so we celebrated by taking the kids and their friends to Horn Island on the boat.  We had a great day swimming, tubing, playing and ended the night by grilling out on the island.  Welcome Summer Vacation!!!!!
