Shuckers Game!

We recently went to cheer on our minor league baseball team, The Biloxi Shuckers.  They happen to be the minor team for the Milwaukee Brewers which is a fun connection to my Wisconsin roots.   And it was super exciting for me because Brett Favre was throwing out the first pitch!

We were very close to the first base line so we definitely kept alert for foul balls.  Addison is showing her sleeve where one of the players signed it.  She didn't bring anything to sign so she volunteered her shirt.  Ha!  That girl...

And there he is!!!  The closest I've ever been to Brett Favre!  Yay!

Camas Family and Grandma Joan Visit!!

We recently had Aunt Andrea, Uncle Marlon and little Marlon and Matthew and Grandma Joan come to visit us from California!  We had perfect weather and man did we pack a lot of fun in!  Here are the kids all excited to visit Horn Island!

The kids got right to exploring and the island did not disappoint.  We saw dolphins and collected hermit crabs!
Grandma Joan with all of her grand kids.
These two are best buds.  They both LOVE Star Wars and Legos and even better when they can combine the two.  They had so much fun on the island having epic Star Wars battles and using the force to move sticks across the sand.

We miss little Matthew's voice saying, "Amelia?  Amelia?"  We knew wherever Amelia was, Matthew was a step behind.  He adores Amelia and never left her side.  Amelia you are the very best big cousin!!!

Using the force!
It's not a visit to our house unless you find turtles in your jammies!  Notice the second turtle hanging on the one Addison is holding!  He is probably holding on for dear life praying for the moment we release them (which we always do).  Actually these turtles have it pretty good because Addison makes sure to give them grapes, lettuce and clementines.  I always wonder where all my produce has gone to??

Cute cousins!

We even had a bonfire on the beach despite very windy conditions!  We had hot dogs, brats and smores and I think we all ate a bit of sand too.

Getting ready for some tubing!

This is right after Stephen took Aunt Andrea and Amelia tubing, they both LOVE going fast and outside of the wake and they were whooping it up and loving every second of it until Stephen flipped his sister right out of the tube!  She still loved it and went back on!  Aunt Andrea is a trooper and that was Amelia's favorite memory of the visit.
Uncle Marlon and Stephen both enjoy guns so they took the boys shooting together.

Boys and their toys.

The California crew wanted to go on an airboat ride and see the alligators.  Behind the kids were over 80 huge alligators!  And one baby to the left of Addison's shoulder.

Heading out into the bayous to look for gators.

There is one swimming up to the boat, right between Addison and Marlon's heads.

Everyone got to hold the baby gator which they loved.

Even Grandma Joan!!
Grandma watched all the kids so the adults could go out to dinner.  Thank you Grandma Joan!  We had such an awesome visit and hope to see you all again soon.

LUKE!!!

Luke recently had his 4th Grade Musical, "Mississippi My Home" and he was adorable as an explorer.

The musical highlights all of the people, places and resources that make Mississippi unique.  So the kids were dressed up as gospel singers, Native Americans, Blues singers, etc.  Very cute.

Luke had a highlight role as an explorer where he had to sing and dance.  He did perfect although Stephen did comment that Luke looked like he rather be getting a colonoscopy than performing his part.

He nailed his speaking part as well.  Proud of you Lukey!

I volunteered to help Luke's class construct and launch rockets, I know... what was I thinking.  Rockets and a bunch of overly excited 4th graders!!  Yikes.  But it was fun and all of the rockets I launched were successful!  Phew.
This is Luke preparing to launch his rocket.

After we gave the kids the all clear, they were able to run after and retrieve their rocket post launch.  Luke found his and and was very happy!
Luke and I (and 100 of his 4th grade classmates) recently headed to Jackson, MS for the 4th grade class trip.  This was a big trip, we left school at 5:30am and we didn't return until 10pm!  I was one tired momma.  We toured the capitol and met our state representative and reviewed all of the different parts of government that they had been learning in Social Studies.

We then continued the field trip by visiting 4 museums!!  This is at the Children's Museum where Luke decided to be a tortoise.

This was at the Mississippi Hall of Fame Museum which Luke loved!  Lots of interactive sports games (this was electronic dodge ball) and sports memorabilia and history.

He wanted a picture by Walter Payton's locker, not Favre's locker.  Boo.

This giant rocker was at the Agricultural Museum.
This was at the Natural Science Museum.
Luke had a great time and I enjoyed spending a whole day with just him.  He and I were exhausted on the bus ride back but it was worth it.

Taylor and Rich visit!

Taylor and Rich recently came for a visit and we were SO excited for them to arrive!  They are the sweetest little newlyweds and we loved hosting them for the weekend.   I used to babysit for Taylor and her siblings when I was in college so it has been so fun watching Taylor grow up into the beautiful young woman she is now.
We kept them busy with bike rides and beach time and boat time and BBQ and blues music time.

So stinking sweet.

My sweet Taylor...this makes me feel old.
Taylor and Rich came to church with us which was so much fun because they got to hear Amelia sing in her youth choir.  We had such a fun visit and cannot wait until they can come down again!

Happy Easter!

These two were up bright and extremely early to search for their Easter baskets.  Poor Amelia got dragged out of bed by her younger siblings to see what the Easter Bunny brought them.

Amelia was glad she got out of bed when she found out the Easter Bunny brought her a much desired Swell water bottle.

Wow!  Who are these big kids??  I cannot believe these are my babies.

Happy Easter from the Boskovich Family!
