Fall Sports!

Luke decided he wanted to try baseball this fall.  Seeing that he was turning 12 this fall, it would really be his last opportunity to give it a try because then he will hit middle school and the competition would probably be too intense.
So, we knew Luke was a pretty athletic kid but we did not have any expectations since he has never played baseball before and all of these little boys in our city have been playing since they were t-ball age.
So, he gets up to bat his first time and whack!  He hits it and is so crazy quick that there is not way they can throw him out.  Safe!
Then he steals second!!
Then he gets to third (I can't remember how) and then he steals home!

Because Luke was an "unknown" in our baseball town, the coaches had him bat last in the order the first game and play out in right field.  Well, that took about two games and now they have Luke leading off the batting order because he almost always gets on base (has never been struck out) and he is so darn quick he usually can steal all the way around the bases.
Pitching is a hard skill so our team pitchers were struggling.  So after two games of that, Stephen taught Luke how to pitch in our front yard and Luke showed up for the third game and told his coaches he wanted to pitch.  So they figured what the heck? ?
They had him warm up pitching before the game and he did great (the coach from the other team even came over and said, "who's this kid?")
So, he impressed them  enough that he started pitching that game!  He threw a few strikeouts and he fielded two balls and threw the batter out at first!!
He did awesome for never playing!  We just kept shaking our heads and laughing.
So, the season has just about wrapped up and he still rotates between pitching (they are only allowed to pitch 2 innings a game) and second base.  He's had a fun season!

In between nights at the baseball field, we still have all three kids on the tennis courts almost daily.
The three of them recently played in a local tournament at our club!

Addison the superstar, would be playing a point and yelling at me at the same time to take more pictures of her.
She is something else.
Amelia, Luke and Addison all had their first match at 8 am that morning.  Lucky thing we had Grandpa, Daddy and me to watch all our tennis kids.
Although, I can barely stand to watch them play tennis.  I feel like I am going to puke the whole time.  So I watch Luke and Amelia from far away.  I can watch Addison still because she will make me laugh.
"Did you see that serve mom??"
"Wooo Hoo, see that/??"

Addison had a draw of 7 girls in her 10 and under bracket and she played three singles matches and came away with the
1st place trophy!
Her last two matches, she had to come back and win after losing the first set, which means she had to win the second set and then play a tie breaker to win the match!
After she won the championship, she came off the court, and started bawling in my arms,
she said, "These are tears of joy!"

Luke had a great tournament as well!
He won the consolation bracket and he won first place in doubles!
Amelia played well and definitely is hitting a lot stronger!
So all around a good day of tennis for the Bosko kiddos!
