NYC Day 3 (Part One)

Day Three started out with a subway ride which was much more exciting for us than the thousands of commuters we shared a ride with.

Little Bit looking like a pro on the subway.

We started our morning with viewing the One World Trade tower and the memorial.
Remembering that horrific day was just so sad.
The water fountains where each of the sites were, are beautiful.
We also toured Federal Hall; where George Washington was sworn in as President of the United States of America.
It was fun looking at all of the masonry work and the humongous vaults they had built into the walls.  We all tried to imagine where our forefathers hid treasures and secrets in the walls.

We also walked around the grounds of Trinity Episcopal Church which we happened upon but the kids remembered from a movie they love called National Treasure.  It was very beautiful and the graveyard was fascinating.

Then we walked the Brooklyn Bridge!

The architecture on the bridge was really amazing and we enjoyed walking on the bridge.  Luke had just finished studying a unit on bridges at school so he had a lot of helpful insight on the history of the bridge.
