This is a continuation of Father's Day. I guess by the amount of pictures we can safely say it was everyone's favorite day. It was just a perfect day spent on the North Shore of Oahu.
Stephen had set up two private surf instructors for just our family and we were so excited to start catching waves!
And even better, they also had a professional photographer capturing all of our memories!
Before our lesson we were just hanging out at the beach and look what the kids found!!!
A sea turtle!
You can see how excited they all were!
The waves kept bringing the sea turtle right up to them and they were all laughing and pointing and cheering! It was such a fun memory!
Amelia touching the sea turtle's shell.
Everyone cheering!
"She touched a sea turtle!"
Addison touching the shell.
Luke cheering, "She touched the sea turtle!"
So funny.
We found two more sea turtles and we just hung out with them for about 20 minutes. They were buddies, each of them was missing one flipper.
They are just amazing to watch.
Definitely a magical memory that everyone lists as one of their favorite things.
And then it was time to start our surf lesson. The instructor taught us the proper technique and safety things while still on the beach and made us all practice while still on the sand. There were so many instructions! We were all looking at each other like, "Uh oh" but then we got out there on the waves and it all just came together.
The kids knocked it out of the park.
They were all amazing surfers right from the get go. The instructors did such a good job getting them successful waves.
Luke was an absolute natural.
This little girl too!
Surfer girl for sure. She never fell off her board, not once. She must have caught 20 waves and had perfect form (arms out front, knees bent, etc).
This is me and Luke catching a wave together!
How awesome to do with my kids!
Praise God for my successful back surgery so I can make all these memories with my kids!
Addison and Daddy riding a wave together!
I will say it is not as easy to "pop up" from your stomach straight to standing when you are 42!
Amelia is always a bit more cautious but still fearless! She also was a natural surfer and did awesome!
Even with those L O N G legs!
Go Mimi!
Luke got so good he could showboat right in front of the photographer.
Loving life.
I just remember watching Stephen and the kids catching waves thinking how amazing this really was. I was trying to lock in all these memories because the kids are getting big so fast.
Perfect form.
Go Stephen go!
I showed you how perfect the kid's form was, now look at mine.
Whoa.
Whoa.
I am supposed to be leaning all my weight forward, both arms in front and knees bent.
I DO NOT know how I stayed on my board but I did! :)
Happy Father's Day Stephen!
Dude you are awesome, totally tubular.
Surfer talk.
Luke again.
While I was waiting for a wave, a giant turtle was flying behind the kids riding the wave. It was so cool!
Amelia showing off perfect form.
Me and Addison.
Whoa, whoa, steady Mommy.
See, I managed to get it together but I was wild.
Amelia and Luke as surfing siblings.
Love that smile.
What an amazing day, swim in a waterfall, see sea turtles, learn how to surf.
Magical.
It was a long, sun and fun filled day but with a little Disney magic, we had a surprise cake waiting for Stephen when we got back to our room.
Our traditional, "Happy Father's Dad" cake.
We couldn't ask for a better man, we love you to pieces.
