Birthday Boy and Decked Halls

Happy Birthday Stephen Michael!  What a man I fetched.  Great hubs, great doctor, great daddy, great body, whoops, how did that get in there?  Presents consisted of a new big boy tennis racket for his new found hobby, another shoot em up video game (which he insists telling me about like it is something that really happened today.  Hon, I was a CIA agent captured by Cuban rebels and I escaped after two years in a prison...seriously, this is conversation with my man).  And yes, Amelia is holding up  the Glee Christmas album because Stephen is the biggest Gleek there is, he loves it!  Singing and dancing through the high school halls, sign him up!

Another hideous birthday cake baked by me.  This was his request: yellow sheet cake with half chocolate frosting from Duncan Hines and half my homemade buttercream frosting.  He wanted the piece in the exact middle.  I hope he never grows up.

The halls are decked!  Well, actually the halls were decked before Thanksgiving this year, we broke our own rule of waiting until Thanksgiving but we were just too excited.  Stephen even had the outside done before I had the inside done so we are now officially, "those people" on the block who start celebrating Christmas in September.

The "big" tree with all of the the fun family ornaments.  Well, we did it again.  Our eyes were bigger than our ceiling.  We bought a tree that said 8 feet, well we got home and it must have been like 12 feet because we shoved it through the screen door (pictured behind the tree) and stood it up and scraped half of the ceiling off.  No problem, Stephen got out the saw and hacked off 6 inches of the trunk and up it went again, scraped off the other half of the ceiling.  This was repeated a couple more times and then he still had to hack off a foot off the top!  This explains why my star is just stuck haphazardly in front of the tree.  We finally got it in the stand and straight which is always a nice experiment in marital communication and the kids always get a language lesson too;)  We were all done, backed up to admire our work.  We noticed water gushing from the tree, hmm that is odd.  Our tree stand had a big crack in it and was leaking the gallon of water I just poured in it.  Icky, sticky water.  Sigh, ran out to get a new stand and started all over!  Tis the season to be merry!

Living room fake tree, all the pretty ornaments.  Was up and decorated in no time flat...love.

Part of our dining room.

More dining room.  Man, seeing a picture of my dining room really makes me realize how much we need to get going on finishing decorating this room.  We need window treatments, we need a floor rug, we need art!  Okay, these are wants, not needs.  I will try to take pictures of the rest of the rooms because not a room is untouched by the Boskovich elves!
