Luke's last days at Ocean Springs Upper Elementary

Field day!!
Luke and Ms. Manning, the hair on that boy.  Luke loves his long hair, and apparently so do the young ladies in the 6th grade.
They love to style it and play with it, which may have something to do with the reason he won't let us cut it.  Sigh.

Luke and Emily and Reagan, best buds.
Amelia just rolls her eyes and says she does not understand how her little brother is popular with the girls.
Ha!

Recently Luke's school also had 6th grade awards celebration!
Luke and his buddies again...all received awards!  Yay Luke for picking smart and responsible friends!

Proud of you Luke!
Straight A's all year!

Luke and his amazing 6th grade teachers!  Luke had a fabulous year and he says this was his favorite year ever and his math teacher, on the far right is his favorite teacher of all times.
She had all the kids write friendship notes to each other and the notes were so sweet and Luke said when they gave Ms. Baggett her note, they all started crying.

Yet ANOTHER fun day for the 6th graders!
They deserve it!  6th grade class picnic!
Luke and all his favorite buddies, this crew is headed to the middle school!
We love you Luke and are so proud of you!

Fun on the water

Grandpa Jon visiting with us and enjoying dinner on the Biloxi sound.

We took the kiddos and their friends for a fun day on the bayou.

They swam and jumped and played for hours.  It was a beautiful day.

3rd Grade Class Trip to the Zoo

I was lucky enough to chaperone my third kiddo to the zoo.  We had a gorgeous day to visit the New Orleans Zoo.

I am relliazing I took most of my pictures of the kids with the statues.
They did see real animals too, ha!

I could have spent hours watching the orangutans, I absolutely love them.

Hooray for field trips!!

Connections Life

We are beyond blessed to have had this remarkable lady in our children's lives.  Mrs. Knight has been a precious teacher to our children while at Oak Park.  She teaches the Gifted and Talented class and she is unbelievable at her job.  The way she cares about these children and teaches them to care about each other is beautiful.  She challenges their brains but also fosters their emotional intelligence and are hearts are breaking that we are graduating our last child from Oak Park.

In public school, we use Wishing Wells to do our prayer requests.  "We wish you well."
Addison's wishing well was that I could bend down and not wear my break brace.  (This was written during my back surgery).  Sweet baby!
She got her wish and I am recovered and well!  Praise God!

I was privileged  to volunteer in Mrs. Knight's classroom many days so I could see her interacting with our kiddos and it is magical.
This project involved the children, putting together a motor and attaching a sharpie marker, and by adjusting weights and direction, etc. they could get the motor on the car working and then have the car draw with the marker on the sheet.  This was so fun to watch.  The classes are small, only a handful of kids so the way they can talk out the problem and find a solution together was awesome.

This is Addison's buddy Dario.  Addison called him the mechanic because when her motor acted up, Dario was great at helping find solutions.  This is the beauty of this program.  They all encourage each other's strengths and it is a time to learn, experiment and encourage.  Not just test, test, test.

Paddles and pianos

Amelia enjoying our beautiful Mississippi bayous while paddle boarding.

Miss Addison recently performed at her piano recital and played her pieces beautifully.

Bravo Addison!

Enjoying Spring

Addison recently made these little bugs out of clay while playing at home and I thought they were so cute.

First time out on the boat this season!
We LOVE being out on the water!
Whenever the kids see the pelicans all grouped like this, they call it pelican church.

My babies are growing up.
