Scholten's Visit!

We had such a fun visit when the Scholten's came to stay with us!
Cousin time is always fun time!

Had to get a little fishing in off the dock.

Success!

We spent a lot of time in the water...on the bayous, at the islands and at the pool!

Me and my big sis!
And a photo bomb from our kids.
Stephen and Kent enjoying some well deserved down time.

We love you guys!

Amelia's high school youth group trip-RYM

Amelia recently headed to Colorado with her church youth group!  There they joined 800 other high school youth group kids at RYM!
This is Amelia and Whitney about to head to the airport!
BRRR, a little chillier than in Mississippi!

Our kids worshiped and praised in big group with all 800 students and also broke into small groups of just their own youth group.  They also attended different speakers depending on the topics of their faith they were interested in exploring.

They had a fabulous time exploring, hiking and learning more about Jesus!

Summer!!!

We started the summer out with a huge Memorial Day party at Seaside on the beach!  Inflatable waterslides, lots of yummy food, live bands and fireworks to top it all off!  Such a fun event for all of us!

This summer has been filled with A LOT of tennis.  All three of the kids have been playing in tournaments as well as state team tennis.
I am the coach of Addison's 10 and under state team tennis and here are some of my sweet little tennis stars.

Addison has been playing mostly girls doubles and mixed doubles and she and her partners did not even lose a game in all of their local matches.

We are headed to the state tournament in Jackson next week because we won all of our local matches!!
Amelia and Luke have been playing too but often at the same time, at another location, hence no pictures of them!
But their teams are also headed to the state tournament next weekend!

Fun day at the waterpark with the girls :)
Luke was having a blast with friends at Orange Beach!

We also had a fun night enjoying a Shuckers baseball game in box seats with some of Stephen's partners.

Awards Day

On the last day of school, Oak Park held the Awards Day.
Addison won 2nd place of the whole school in Accelerated Reading points with 650 points!
That is remarkable, last year's winner, only had 425 points..she was initially disappointed losing to her rival reader, Connor but I was able to convince her it was absolutely amazing how many books she read!

Addison also received Classic Reader award.
So not only did she read a crazy amount of books and tested on them to receive the 650 points, she also was reading books above a 6th grade reading level!
Way to go Addison!

Proud of my youngest baby!

Addison and her principal, Dr. Pope!
We will miss you Oak Park!

Last day of school swim party at the pool!!

Yay Summer!!!

Oak Park Talent Show

Addison wrapped up her time at the wonderful Oak Park Elementary School with singing a solo at the talent show.
She sang a Christian song called, "Go and Tell."  She shared the important message of sharing the Good News of Jesus being the joy and hope and light in our lives.  She sang beautifully, we are so proud of Addison.  How she finds the bravery to go and sing in front of her entire school and all those parents is beyond me.
Way to go Addison!  You definitely let your light shine!!
Addison and her precious piano teacher Dr. Michaelle.
Addison is so blessed because Dr. Michaelle accompanied Addison on the piano.

After the talent show, the 3rd graders had a surprise for the rest of the school.
They performed a flash mob!
It was so cute!  You can see Addison up on the stage, she started the flash mob with these other students and by the end, the entire third grade had made it up to the stage all the while performing a choreographed routine. It was adorable.

Just one of the millions of reasons we are so sad to leave Oak Park.

The third graders then got to have a dance party!

Addison was loving it!

Addison and Sydney!

Addison even had two VIP's show up at her talent show performance.  Mckenzie and Amelia were exempt from high school exams for straight A's and perfect attendance so they came back to their old stomping grounds to support Addison!

Sweet friends Addison and Hope!

Third Grade Oscars

Addison's school does a really fun project in third grade.  The children have to make a movie, edit it, add the sound, etc
The can choose different categories like Live Narrative,Persuasive, Powtoons, Powerpoint.Stop Motion. etc.   And just like the real Oscars, clips of the movies are shown and then the winner is announced.  All the third graders dressed up and the school was decorated for the Oscars, complete with a red carpet.
It was so neat!
Addison was also chosen to be a presenter and she did a great job presenting the category Live Narrative.

Addison and her friends also won the Oscar in their category!!
The name of her project was "Epic Book."
Way to go Addison!

A fun day at the Oscars!
And yes, Addison is in a velvet Christmas dress in May...because that is what Addison decided and I have stopped winning arguments with Addison about 8 years ago when she began to talk.

More End of the School Year Fun

We all enjoyed the Ocean Springs High School tennis team banquet.
Amelia and the other freshman girls :)

Addie and Alden had lots of fun with the new spray paint chalk on the driveway.

Luke's school had a Fun Run as a fundraiser and they had a blast.
They moved it inside and turned it into a Glow Run because of a threat of thunderstorms but the kids loved it!
Thank you to the Grandparents for sponsoring Luke!
