Last Week of School 2016-2017

Amelia was invited to the 8th Grade Awards Night!  Such an honor!

So sweet that the majority of Amelia's closest friends were also being honored that night.
Someone is doing a great job picking friends!
Amelia received the highest award for English and she also received Principal's List Award (straight A's all year).

Proud of you Amelia!

After 8th Grade Honor Awards Night, we had to race to the other end of town to attend the Greyhound Tennis Banquet.
Amelia and her JV buddies!
Sweet girls!

Proud of our Amelia!
Addison's 2nd grade project was to do a report on a famous person and create a Wax Museum.  She chose JK Rowling!
You can see her information board and report behind her.  She had her speech memorized perfectly.

She dressed up like JK Rowling and when you pushed her button she said her speech.  So cute!
The hallways were filled with different characters and all the parents and school children got to walk through to experience the wax museum.
Even our local news came to join in on the fun!
Addison was even on the evening news!

I chaperoned Addison's class to the Shucker game!
It was H-O-T!!!!

Next up was Luke's 5th grade field day!

Luke's class competed in lots of fun relays!
Luke also made it to the finals in the 200 yd. dash and came in 4th place out of the eight 5th grade classes!
It was so awesome!  Proud of little dude.

Grandpa and I cheered Luke on in his race!

2nd Grade Field Day!

Addison was super pumped for field day!

Addison's class competed in a lot of fun relays against all of the other 2nd Grade classes.  They did things like dizzy bat run, soccer, balance tennis ball on the racket, etc.  Addison's class won a couple of the relays and they were EXCITED!!

Speedy!

Cheering each other on!

After the relays, in which all the kids get to compete, they move to the dashes.
Only the fastest compete!  They do the prelims in PE class before field day.
So Addison made it to the finals in the 50 yard dash.
It was the fastest girl in each of the six 2nd grade classes.

And off they go!!
There is little bit, leading the pack!
I couldn't believe it!  I was jumping up and down and screaming "Go Addison, Go Addison!"

And then look, she slows down to look around like, "Where is everyone??"

Then she realized she was  winning and she turned on the jets to finish the race!

There she is getting her 1st place!
She was so cute!  Okay, and I teared up a little.
It just brought back all my track memories  and remembering my parents cheering their heads off up in the stands for me!

Our principal, Dr. Pope, congratulating Addison :)
Way to go Addison!

Mother's Day!

These three goofballs are why I get to celebrate Mother's Day each year.  And although sometimes I think I might go crazy if someone says, "Momma!!" one more time, I wouldn't trade it for the world.
I love them all so much and life is so much more full with them in my world!

They showered me with gifts, mostly stuff for my new pickleball passion.

Church and brunch were followed by tubing and relaxing on the boat.  It was an absolutely perfect day.  We had so many smiles and laughter and fun, I loved it.

My sweet babies are growing up.

What we did this week...

Amelia performed with the symphonic band at their spring concert playing her trumpet.  It is truly remarkable how good these kids are.  Huge props to the band directors at our schools.  To take all these kids in 6th grade who have never played an instrument to the musicians they now are as 8th graders is amazing!  Well done Amelia!

Attended and worked at Treasure Oak's Family Fun Day!
It was a really super day, with paddleboarding, tennis, bouncy houses, face painting, obstacle courses, swimming and of course food!
Addison received some nice awards at school, sweet girl.
She also is part of student council at school and did the morning announcements this week and she concluded her announcements each day with a prayer over the loudspeaker.  She prayed for her teachers, the students, for our government, for  those whom are deployed, she wrote a different prayer each day and it was precious.
Stephen and I also attended National Day of Prayer at our City Hall.  It was very moving.

Stephen and I also attended a Kentucky Derby party to support a hospital charity.
It was fun to rock a fascinator :)

SPRING BREAK!!

The kids and I spent the rest of our spring break at Navarre Beach, Florida with our friends, the Smellys.  Their daddy is deployed  and Stephen was working so the mommas took the kiddos to the beach for some fun!

Besides the beach, this was the kids favorite spot.  All lounging together with Duke, the giant Schnoodle.  He is the true definition of a gentle giant and my kids LOVE him!

Many, many hours of sand castle building and seashell hunting filled Addison and Christian's days.

The three big kids barely came out of the water.  They boogie boarded every chance they got.

I was enjoying the waves with all the kids.  And trying to help them catch the perfect wave.

Christian and Addison displayed all the shells they found :)

These two were quite the sight on the beach playing paddle ball.
They are both great tennis players so they never missed!

Addison, "this is the life."

I took this picture completely candid and I love it.
This is what kids look like after a few days at the beach.  So funny.  They can't even move.
What a fun spring break!
